Mr. Jose Thomas, ‘JT’ to his friends, is the Managing Director of The Choice Group, one of the largest and highly diversified conglomerates headquartered in Cochin, with branches in all the major trading centers in South India, besides USA, Canada, Europe and Singapore.

A man of rare excellence and great vision, he was initiated into the business at the very young age of 17 years, following the sad demise of his father Mr. O. C. Thomas, founder of Choice Canning Company. JT had to travel the roughest of roads to take the Group to where it is today. Starting with exports of processed canned shrimp, JT built the first IQF plant in India in Cochin.

A few years back, he diversified the product and started exporting ‘Heat and Eat Meal Kits’ branded “Tastee Choice” across the globe. He is today spearheading the company into the next stage of operations, i.e., the launch of “Tastee Choice” in the Indian market.

The great visionary that he is, JT conceptualized the construction of the tallest residential building in South India – the 40 storied Choice Paradise at Cochin with several unique features.

Choice School, only one of its kind in Kerala, is yet another landmark achievement of Mr. Jose Thomas.

This school started small but has today grown phenomenally with over 2000 students and around 400 staff members, and runs under the Choice Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization. Choice Inter Modal Services, another venture of the Group, handles the Transport and Logistics Division and does agency work for Hyundai Merchant Marine – Choice being the exclusive agents for Hyundai in South India. A faculty member in several business schools in the US, JT is also a highly talented musician and a great culinary expert.

His diverse interests and unique character make him an intriguing personality and a man of great vision. JT is ably supported by his family in the management of the Group which is celebrating 50 years of excellence. While his wife, Mrs. Elezabeth Jose is also the director of the company, his eldest son Thomas Jose and daughter Priya Jose have joined the organization as management trainees. His children, Divya Jose, Elsa Jose and Jacob Jose are students.
